Mats Tidek är en konstnär som arbetar med fotografin som teknik. Han har haft ett flertal uppmärksammade utställningar under en tioårsperiod.
”Min motivering till att arbeta med fotokonsten är att jag vill arbeta med den fotografiska trovärdigheten och exaktheten. Det är intressant att göra abstraktioner genom detta medium. Att arbeta med fotomontage och fototeknik ger mig en bildfantasi, som jag annars kanske inte skulle haft. Kombinationsmöjligheterna i fotomontaget är obegränsade, som möjligheterna att fritt och medvetet arbeta med färg och form. Att direkt kunna ta föreställande element, och överföra dom till ett abstrakt sammanhang, är en intressant möjlighet som fotomontaget och fotografin ger”.
Mats Tibek is an artist that works with photography as a technique. He had a number of well recognised exhibitions over a period of ten years.
“My motivation to work with the art of photography is that I want to work with the photographic reliability and exactness. I find it interesting to make abstractions through this medium. To work with photo montage and photo technique give me an imagination of images that I never would have had otherwise. There are unlimited possibilities of combinations in photo montage, such as the possibilities to work with color and shape in a free and conscious way. To be able to take figurative element, and directly transfer them to an abstract context, is an interesting opportunity.”
